Arghand Hand - Made Soaps
Arghand produces a line of fine soaps and skin oils from natural ingredients of the region around Kandahar, Afghanistan. Arghand is an Afghan cooperative with a long-term objective of contributing to the process of weaning the local economy from its dependence on the opium poppy. They do this by producing remarkable handmade soaps and other products. Please visit their website www.arghand.org.
Each bar of Arghand soap is hand-molded to resemble a river-polished cobble of local marble. The scents are very mild and natural, and they have a wonderful "soft" feel when you use them. "... it makes you want to wash your hands" (customer comment). The bars are approximately 4-4 1/2 oz (125 g) and are wrapped in a strip of Herat turban silk (isn't that cool).
